Although most of our February show will be continuing until the end of March, there is still plenty to see this month at The Village Gallery! Our March feature will include new works from Brian Buckrell, William Watt, and Amanda Jones.
Brian Buckrell has added two new pieces to the gallery, "Glorious" at 24"x18", and "Storm Passing Cox Bay" at 38"x18". Although "Glorious" is the smaller of the two paintings, it has considerable presence through its colour palette. Brian uses a beautiful rich plum colour that draws the eye upward to the centre of the painting to showcase a glowing sunset, creating a dramatic scene that still maintains its sense of tranquility.
Further arrivals include two abstract landscapes from William Watt. "Hint of the Multiverse", one of these two new additions from William, displays one scene in two ways. The first presents a simple and calm landscape, one that is familiar for anyone who has lived on the west coast. The other shows layers of paint scraped away by the artist to expose the underpainting of the work, showing another scene for our imaginations to pursue.
Amanda Jones switched out works from her previous show and brought one new piece, a 36"x30" acrylic on canvas entitled "Coastal Viewpoint". This stunning seaside scene entices viewers to step past the rocks and trees to explore what lies beyond. This is a piece viewers will want to revisit again and again.
These new pieces have all arrived and are now available to view, so be sure to stop by to see them before they depart by the end of the month!
